An appraiser accredited by the American Society of Appraisers (www.appraisers.org) has had intensive training and has demostrated significant experience in their field. An appraiser who attains the ASA (Accredited Senior Appraiser) designation has passed exams on ethical behavior, Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice and several courses specific to their appaisal discipline. The ASA appraiser also has a minimum of 5 years experience in their field and a college degree or equivalent.
